    X-rays

X-rays are used to take a better look at how a child’s teeth are developing. X-rays will show if there are spots of decay, gives us a better look between the teeth, and they help us see bone density.

What Type Of X-Ray Do You Use?

Intraoral X-rays are the most common type in dentistry. They give a high level of detail of the tooth, bone, and supporting tissues of the mouth. These X-rays allow dentists to:

    • Find cavities
    • Examine roots and the bony area around the tooth
    • Diagnose periodontal disease
    • Check on developing teeth

    Digital X-Rays

To take X-rays we use a digital X-ray machine to get a good picture of the teeth above and below the gum line. Digital X-rays use significantly less radiation than traditional X-rays making them safer and easier to save to patient records.
