Oral Sedation

Oral sedation involves taking a pill before, and possibly during, the appointment. This pill, typically Halcion, is safe and predictable. After you take the pill, someone else drives you to your appointment where we deliver exceptional care in a comfortable, anxiety-free atmosphere. Patients are awake during the procedure but many have very little memory of the visit. Some patients may fall asleep during the procedure, but are generally easy to arouse.

For patients who are anxious about a dental appointment or for patients who need help relaxing during a procedure, sedation can be a tremendous help.

Why would someone require sedation treatment?

Individuals who may be anxious or require extensive dental treatment may benefit from sedation treatment. Our doctors may recommend sedation if they believe it will help you feel more comfortable during your visit. If you are interested in learning more about the sedation options available, our friendly staff would be happy to discuss them with you in more detail.

Is sedation dentistry safe?

Sedation is generally safe for most people. However, it is important to talk to your dentist to make sure you are a good candidate for sedation to avoid any potential complications. Our dentists and support staff have prioritized extensive training to ensure patient safety for sedation treatments.
